Today, we all use e-commerce platforms for shopping for even our smallest requirements, whether it is about - buying clothes, groceries, or mobile phones/laptops. We will also find many applications dedicated to specific niches, and sofiqe is one of them. Sofiqe is an upcoming e-commerce cosmetic shop leader rooting its legs in the market. This application contains many AR effects and 3D effects to try your cosmetics on your face virtually to check which suits your skin-type the most. Read this case study in-depth to explore more features that we have implemented in this application.

The client is from the UK and reached out to us through Freelancers with a requirement to build Sofiqe mobile application using Flutter, which allows the development of hybrid/ cross-platform mobile apps that can run on both iOS and Android mobile devices seamlessly. In the application, the client wanted us to implement the following special features:
Allows users to set their skin type, lips shape and color type, eyes colors, hair colors, skin allergies, etc., to search their favourite cosmetics based on their set parameters, which can be edited as they wish.
The app shows recommendations in two ways, first by using users’ behaviours - using data science algorithms and another one based on their skin type filters, which they have set priorly.
A very trendy feature, which allows users to try on that particular cosmetic on their face using AR filters and also by clicking their selfies to try on makeups using 3D effects.
This app had many interesting features to implement, in which some of which were challenging for us, but Flutter developers at PragetX love to deal with challenges, so they accepted this project to work on it. They analyzed all the requirements and gave project estimation and roadmap to the client, and after getting its approval, they started to build the sofiqe app.
The biggest challenge they faced in the Sofiqe app development was to implement the AR & 3D effect filters to try cosmetics on virtually. Thanks to their great problem-solving skills, they succeeded in solving this challenge as well, as they did in other projects, and delivered the seamlessly working and attractive Sofiqe mobile application to the client.
Users can create their profile using email ID and phone number, set their password, and log in to their profile, either using a password or OTP (One Time Password).
Users always have their preferences when buying anything. And in the case of cosmetics, specifications must be applied. Therefore, we added multiple filters, like brands, price range, skin type, etc., for their convenience.
This feature allows users to try makeups/cosmetics on their face virtually using a camera to check its live effects, like how that looks on their particular skin type.
The app shows recommendations in two ways, first by using users’ behaviours - using data science algorithms and another one based on their skin type filters, which they have set priorly.
Users can use the Try-it-On feature and use recommendations to share with their family and friend circle to ask their opinion on the shared picture.
Like other e-commerce shops, this application also has a feature to rate and comment on products for other customers' ease and their knowledge of why and why not buy that product.
This application is still under development and bug fixing. The almost development work is done. Very soon, Sofiqe will be live and serve its purpose to provide women with a facility to buy branded cosmetics at better prices and get better deals to save more.
